Awards include the 2005 Reva Shiner New Play Contest (finalist), 2004 Reverie Productions Next Generation Playwright Contest, the 2004 Spotlight On Writer's Award for best One-Act or Short Form Play, and the 2002 Source Summer Theatre Festival's 10-Minute Play Competition (runner up).
In 2006, L.J. founded Notorious Woman productions.
Teaching Bio
L.J. has more than 15 years' experience teaching writing and language skills to adult learners in both university and corporate environments. She has successfully used web-based, instructor led, and blended learning approaches. Academic courses taught range from basic/remedial sentence and grammar skills to senior-level creative writing (short fiction, plays, and poetry). Coporate training courses include federal government proposal development, basic and advanced business writing, and grammar. She has taught at The University of Maryland University College, Prince George's Community College, Southern Maryland Community College, and George Mason University. Corporate training clients include ESI International, Accenture, and Arthur Andersen.
